Abstract Introduction: Angiosarcoma is a rare vascular neoplasm, but with high aggressiveness with high rates of local recurrence and early metastasis. Clinically, it can be confused with simple hematomas or other infectious and inflammatory diseases, often making early diagnosis difficult. Skin biopsy plays a key role. Case description: We describe the case of a 70-year-old man, leukodermic, with the appearance of a spot in the left eye after two months of evolution, initially in the pre-auricular region with progression to the periocular area; no trauma associated. The patient was referred to a dermatology consultation, having performed a skin biopsy, revealing that it was an advanced epithelioid angiosarcoma of the face. He was followed up in oncology, having undergone a cycle of chemotherapy treatments with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, showing a favorable evolution of the lesion with no evidence of metastasis until now. Comment: Early recognition of this type of neoplasm is essential, and the clinician should be diligent in relation to some aspects such as the appearance of skin spots on the face as well as ulcers or skin wounds that do not heal after four to six weeks, allowing a positive impact on the prognosis.

Resumo Introdução: O angiossarcoma é uma neoplasia vascular rara, porém, de elevada agressividade com altas taxas de recidiva local e metastização precoce. Clinicamente pode confundir-se com simples hematomas ou com doenças infeciosas e inflamatórias, dificultando o diagnóstico precoce. A biópsia cutânea assume um papel fundamental. Descrição do caso: Descreve-se o caso de um homem de 70 anos, leucodérmico, com aparecimento de mancha na face com dois meses de evolução, inicialmente na região pré-auricular e progressão para a zona periocular; sem traumatismo associado. O utente foi encaminhado para consulta de dermatologia, tendo realizado biópsia cutânea. Esta revelou angiossarcoma epitelioide avançado da face. Iniciou seguimento em consulta de oncologia médica, tendo realizado ciclo de tratamentos de quimioterapia com doxorrubicina lipossomal peguilada. Teve evolução favorável da lesão, com ausência de metastização até ao momento atual. Comentário: O reconhecimento precoce deste tipo de neoplasia torna-se essencial, devendo o médico de família apresentar uma postura diligente em relação ao aparecimento de manchas cutâneas na face, úlceras ou feridas cutâneas que não cicatrizam ao fim de quatro a seis semanas. Só o diagnóstico precoce permitirá o impacto positivo no prognóstico.

ABSTRACT The increasing use of e-commerce, stimulated by the period of social isolation given the pandemic of COVID-19, requires accompanying measures, among them, the evaluation of the success of the Information System (IS). A stream of research has been dedicated for over 30 years to evolving / adapting IS evaluation models. This investigation empirically tests the theoretical model of DeLone & McLean (2004); in two distinct periods, before (model 1) and during (model 2) the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey was conducted with 329 consumers of business to consumer e-commerce in Brazil. This research is quantitative and used structural equation modeling to analyze the data. The results showed that, before the pandemic, e-commerce users did not perceive value in the quality of the system's information while, during the pandemic, perceived this aspect as important. That is, they also started to recognize more value in the quality of the system during the pandemic. This was the result of the increased use of the e-commerce system during the period of social detachment. This quantitative study has some limitations. First, the survey was conducted twice, before and during the Covid-19 pandemic specific on the Brazilian e-commerce consumption context. Second, the sample size is limited. The study contributes academically by applying the model quantitatively in a Western context. Furthermore, it has strategic potential, as positive experiences in the IS lead the consumer to reuse it, generating revenue.

Abstract Coping skills are one of the most important variables of alcohol and drug relapse prevention. The Urge-Specific Strategies Questionnaire (USSQ) is an instrument developed in the USA that aims to evaluate the coping skills repertoire of an individual who is facing craving. As no information about its psychometric properties was found in Brazil, the aim of this study was to adapt the USSQ to the Brazilian context. Participants were 378 addicts in treatment for substance use disorder at Psychosocial Care Centers-Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAPS-AD). Most were men with low education and crack cocaine addicts. The instruments applied were a questionnaire of general characterization, the USSQ, and the Major Depression Inventory. Procedures performed were cross-cultural adaptation and validity and reliability assessments. Results of the content validity indicated that all 20 items adequately represented the theoretical definition and were suitable to assess the immediate coping skills in Brazilian culture. Considering theoretical and psychometric issues, a single-factor internal structure with 12 items was the best choice for the Brazilian version of the USSQ. It showed satisfactory fit indexes, measurement invariance for alcohol and crack cocaine users, and for people in detoxing and abstinence, as well as a significant correlation with external variables such as length of abstinence and depression level. The conclusion of the study is that the Brazilian USSQ has initial psychometric qualities to assess the coping skills repertoire of substance addicts.

Resumen Las habilidades de afrontamiento son una de las variables más importantes para prevenir la recaída en el alcohol y otras drogas. El Cuestionario de Estrategias Específicas de Antojo (USSQ) es un instrumento desarrollado en los EE. UU. para la evaluación del repertorio de afrontamiento de un individuo frente a un antojo de droga. Como no se encontró información sobre sus cualidades psicométricas en Brasil, el objetivo de este estudio fue adaptar el instrumento para el país. Participaron 378 personas en el tratamiento por trastorno de uso de sustancias en los Centros de Atención Psico-social-Alcohol y otras Drogas (CAPS-AD), la mayoría hombres, con bajo nivel educativo y consumidores de crack. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron un cuestionario de caracterización general, el USSQ y el Inventario de Depresión Mayor. Se llevaron a cabo procedimientos de adaptación transcultural y evaluaciones de la validez y fiabilidad. Los resultados de la validez de contenido indicaron que los 20 ítems representaban adecuadamente la definición teórica de afrontamiento, eran adecuados para la población brasileña y relevantes, para la evaluación del afrontamiento inmediato. Considerando aspectos teóricos y psicométricos, una estructura interna unifactorial de 12 ítems fue considerada la mejor opción para la versión brasileña del USSQ, con tasas de ajuste satisfactorias, invariancia de medición para consumidores de alcohol y crack y para personas en desintoxicación y abstinentes, así como relación significativa con las variables externas tiempo de abstinencia y nivel de depresión. Se concluye que la adaptación brasileña del USSQ tiene cualidades psicométricas iniciales para medir el repertorio de habilidades de afrontamiento de los consumidores de sustancias.

Resumo Habilidades de enfrentamento são uma das variáveis mais importantes para a prevenção de recaída ao álcool e outras drogas. O Questionário de Estratégias Específicas à Fissura (USSQ) é um instrumento desenvolvido nos EE. UU. para a avaliação do repertório de enfrentamento de um indivíduo diante da fissura. Como não foram encontradas informações sobre suas qualidades psicométricas no Brasil, o objetivo deste estudo foi adaptar o instrumento para o país. Participaram do estudo 378 pessoas em tratamento por transtorno de uso de substâncias em Centros de Atenção Psicossocial - Álcool e outras Drogas (CAPS-AD), sendo a maioria homens, de baixa escolaridade e usuários de crack. Os instrumentos utilizados foram um questionário de caracterização geral, o USSQ e o Inventário de Depressão Maior. Foram realizados procedimentos de adaptação transcultural e investigações de evidências de validade e precisão. Os resultados da validade de conteúdo indicaram que os 20 itens representavam adequadamente a definição teórica de enfrentamento, eram adequados para a população brasileira e relevantes para a avaliação do enfrentamento imediato. Considerando aspectos teóricos e psicométricos, uma estrutura interna unifatorial de 12 itens foi considerada a melhor opção para a versão brasileira do USSQ, com índices de ajuste satisfatórios, invariância de medida para usuários de álcool e crack e para pessoas em desintoxicação e abstinentes, bem como relação significativa com as variáveis externas tempo de abstinência e nível de depressão. Conclui-se que a adaptação brasileira do USSQ possui qualidades psicométricas iniciais para mensurar o repertório de habilidades de enfrentamento de usuários de substâncias.

Resumo Com as conquistas legais e certa visibilidade dada à língua brasileira de sinais (Libras), houve maior aparição das pessoas surdas em variados espaços político-sociais. Ao mesmo tempo, nota-se o contínuo retrocesso de direitos advindo dos discursos assistencialistas do atual governo federal, que, sob a égide de um suposto “cuidado” às pessoas surdas, tem creditado para si o reconhecimento das pautas desta comunidade, configurando um processo de captura no qual as lutas históricas do movimento surdo no país são apagadas. Neste trabalho, buscamos rememorar a história do ativismo surdo no Brasil, cartografando vozes surdas na articulação com as perspectivas freireana e foucaultiana no sentido de esperançar a partir de contracondutas como as feitas por algumas vidas surdas na atualidade.

Abstract The legal achievements and visibility conferred to the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) led to a greater appearance of deaf people in various socio-political spaces. At the same time, the welfarist discourse of the current federal government, under the auspices of a supposed “care” for deaf people, establishes a setback for rights, assigning for itself the recognition of this community agenda and erasing the historical struggles of the deaf movement in the country. In an attempt to instill hope from counter-conducts such as those made by some deaf lives today, this work aims to recall the history of deaf activism in Brazil, mapping deaf voices in articulation with the Freirean and Foucaultian perspectives.

Resumo A amendoeira é um elemento característico da paisagem em Trás-os-Montes, onde se concentra a maior área de amendoal (19 800 ha) em Portugal. A monosteira, Monosteira unicostata (Mulsant & Rey, 1852) (Hemiptera: Tingidae) é considerada praga-chave, ocasionando estragos diretos e indiretos. O conhecimento da sua bioecologia e a correta estimativa do risco são fundamentais na tomada de decisão fitossanitária. Neste sentido, os diferentes estados de desenvolvimento de M. unicostata foram monitorizados e avaliados os estragos. Assim, semanalmente entre abril e setembro em 2018 e 2019, num amendoal de Alfandega da Fé, procedeu-se à colheita de folhas, observadas à lupa para registo do número de posturas, ninfas e adultos. Paralelamente, realizou-se a técnica das pancadas. Nas folhas, as ninfas foram observadas a partir de meados de junho, com um máximo de 0,6±1,4 ninfas/amostra em 2018 e 0,4±1,5 ninfas/amostra em 2019. Quanto aos adultos, observou-se o máximo em meados de agosto, com 0,1±0,4 adultos/amostra em 2018 e 0,1±0,2 adultos/amostra em 2019. Na técnica das pancadas, as capturas confirmam o observado nas folhas, com valores mais elevados em agosto e setembro, com aproximadamente oito exemplares/amostra. A percentagem de folhas com estragos aumentou ao longo do ano, ultrapassando os 90% em ambos os anos.

Abstract The almond tree is a characteristic feature of the landscape in Trás-os-Montes, where the largest area of almond groves is concentrated (19 800 ha) in Portugal. The poplar lace bug, Monosteira unicostata (Mulsant & Rey, 1852) (Hemiptera: Tingidae) is considered a key pest, causing direct and indirect damages. The knowledge of its bioecology and the correct risk estimation are fundamental in the phytosanitary decision making. In this sense, the different development stages of M. unicostata were monitored and is damage was evaluated. Thus, weekly, between April and September 2018 and 2019, in an almond orchard, in Alfandega da Fé, leaves were harvested and observed under a binocular stereoscopic to record the number of M. unicostata eggs, nymphs, and adults, as well as visible damage in the leaves. At the same time, the beating technique was also performed. In the leaves, the nymphs were observed from mid-June, with a maximum of 0.6 ± 1.4 nymphs/sample in 2018 and 0.4 ± 1.5 nymphs/sample in 2019. As for adults, the maximum was observed in mid-August, with 0.1 ± 0.4 adults/sample in 2018 and 0.1 ± 0.2 adults/sample in 2019. The catches in the beating technique confirm those recorded on the leaves, with higher values in August and September, with approximately eight specimens/sample. The percentage of leaves with damage increased throughout the year, exceeding 90% in both years.

Resumo O conhecimento da biodiversidade de artrópodes presentes nas culturas, em termos das funções que desempenham (fitófagos, predadores, parasitoides, detritívoros, entre outros) e das relações existentes entre si é fundamental numa perspetiva de conservação da fauna auxiliar, de promoção da proteção biológica contra as principais pragas e de manutenção da cultura em bom estado fitossanitário. No caso da amendoeira, o conhecimento acerca da biologia das pragas-chave, a sua dinâmica populacional e os predadores e parasitoides associados é ainda escasso em Portugal. Assim, este trabalho teve por objetivo conhecer a diversidade e a abundância dos principais grupos funcionais de artrópodes associados à copa do amendoal e as suas flutuações ao longo do tempo. Nesse sentido, em dois anos consecutivos (2018 e2019) entre abril e início de outubro, com periodicidade semanal, realizou-se a técnica das pancadas em 25 árvores selecionadas aleatoriamente num amendoal localizado em Alfandega da Fé. O material colhido foi separado e os artrópodes existentes contados e identificados ao mais baixo nível taxonómico possível. No total foram capturados 11 809 artrópodes, que se distribuíram em oito ordens diferentes. Os hemípteros fitófagos foram os indivíduos mais abundantes ao longo da amostragem. Relativamente aos auxiliares predadores, por ordem de importância relativa, surgiram as aranhas, os coccinelídeos e as formigas, nos dois anos de estudo. Os himenópteros parasitoides representaram 11% e 15% do total de auxiliares, respetivamente em 2018 e 2019. Verificou-se ainda que a maior abundância de aranhas foi coincidente com a maior ocorrência dos hemípteros fitófagos.

Abstract The knowledge of the diversity of arthropods in the crops (phytophagous, predators, parasitoids, detritivores, and others) and the relations between them are fundamental in a perspective of conservation of the beneficial insects, to promote biological protection against the main pests and maintain the crop in good phytosanitary condition. The knowledge about pest bioecology, population dynamics, predators and associated parasitoids in almond orchards are still scarce in Portugal. Thus, this work aimed to understand the diversity and abundance of the main functional groups of arthropods associated with the canopy of the almond tree and their fluctuations over time. To fulfill the objective, between April and early October of 2018 and 2019, weekly, the beating technique was performed. selecting randomly 25 trees from an almond tree orchard located in Alfândega da Fé. The harvested material was separated, and arthropods counted and identified at the lowest possible taxonomic level (order, family, genus, or species). In total, 11,809 arthropods were captured, that were distributed in 8 different orders. Phytophagous Hemiptera were the most abundant individuals throughout the sampling and the auxiliaries, spiders, coccinellids, and ants were the most abundant in 2018 and 2019. Parasitoid hymenopterans were also detected in the two years of sampling. It was found that the spiders followed the peaks of the occurrence of phytophagous Hemiptera. Phytophagous Hemiptera were the most abundant individuals throughout the sampling. Concerning the auxiliary fauna, in order of relative importance, spiders, coccinellids, and ants appeared in the two years of study. The parasitoid Hymenoptera represented 11% and 15% of the total auxiliaries, respectively in 2018 and 2019. It was also found that the greater abundance of spiders coincided with the greater occurrence of phytophagous Hemiptera.

Resumo O presente artigo objetiva analisar as trajetórias históricas e as composições de saberes que ativaram um novo cenário educacional inclusivo bilíngue para surdos, distinto das propostas inclusivas consonantes com o modelo referendado pelas diretrizes que sustentam os discursos e as práticas na educação especial. São apresentadas propostas bilíngues para surdos e as ações que buscam romper com o paradigma que ainda mantém a centralidade educacional na língua portuguesa. Os conceitos das filosofias da diferença, em Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari, contribuíram para a análise e historicização (saber/poder) dos fatores que possibilitaram a emergência de projetos bilíngues como um campo de investigação possível. Nesse sentido, a relevância desta pesquisa consiste em contribuir com as discussões existentes sobre os deslocamentos de saberes para procedimentos educacionais, realizados em municípios que adotam métodos inclusivos bilíngues, a fim de demarcar a história dos movimentos sociais em direção a propostas de escolas-polo bilíngues.

Abstract This article aims to analyze the historical trajectories and knowledge compositions that have activated a new inclusive bilingual educational scenario for deaf, distinct from the inclusive proposals in line with the model supported by the guidelines that support discourses and practices in special education. Bilingual proposals for deaf are presented and actions that seek to break with the paradigm that still maintains the centrality of education in the Portuguese language. Concepts of the philosophies of difference in Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari contributed to the analysis and historicization (knowledge/power) of the factors that allowed the emergence of bilingual projects as a possible field of investigation. The relevance of this research is to contribute with the existing discussions about the displacements of knowledge for educational procedures, carried out in municipalities that adopt bilingual inclusive methods, in order to demarcate the history of social movements towards proposals of bilingual polo-schools.

Resumo Objetivou-se com este trabalho caracterizar atributos morfológicos, físicos e químicos de solos formados a partir de arenitos no Cerrado Piauiense, na tentativa de encontrar padrões evolutivos. O estudo foi realizado em cinco perfis de solos representativos identificados como P1-RY (Neossolo Flúvico Psamítico típico - Aquents), P2-PA (Argissolo Amarelo Distrófico típico - Alfisol), P3-RL (Neossolo Litólico Distrófico fragmentário - Psamments), P4-RQ (Neossolo Quartzarênico Órtico típico - Orthents) e P5-PV (Argissolo Vermelho Distrófico Típico - Ultisol). As amostras dos solos foram submetidas à descrição morfológica e análises laboratoriais. Em geral, os solos desta região apresentaram altos teores da fração areia, baixo pH, baixo conteúdo de bases trocáveis e baixa capacidade de troca catiônica (CTC). A matéria orgânica governou a CTC na maioria dos horizontes, sugerindo uma dependência da matéria orgânica no fornecimento de cargas. Estes solos mostraram baixo grau de intemperismo, mas com ferro de alta cristalinidade. Assim, é possível afirmar que o relevo e o material de origem são os fatores de formação do solo que possuem maior influência nos atributos dos solos do Cerrado Piauiense, Brasil. Além disso, estes solos são jovens, sendo os mais evoluídos aqueles originados da Formação Piauí. Contudo, os arenitos do grupo Canindé aparentemente estão fornecendo minerais secundários diretamente da rocha ao solo.

Abstract This study characterized the morphological, physical and chemical attributes of sandstone-derived soils at the Cerrado of the Piauí State, Brazil, in order to identify evolutionary standards. The study was carried out with five representative soil profiles identified as P1-RY (Typical Flavic Psychotic Neosol - Aquents), P2-PA (Typical Dystrophic Yellow Argisol - Alfisol), P3-RL (Fragmentary Litholic Distrophic Neosol - Psammenit), P4-RQ (Typical Ortic Quartzenetic Neosol - Orthents) and P5-PV (Typical Dystrophic Red Argisol - Ultisol). Soil samples were submitted laboratory analysis described morphologically. In general, the soils presented high sand content, low pH, low content of exchangeable bases and low cation exchange capacity (CEC). Organic matter governed the CEC in most cases, suggesting dependence of organic matter in the supply of charges. These soils showed a low degree of weathering, but with iron of high crystallinity. Thus, the relief and the parent material are the major important soil-forming factors at the Cerrado of the Piauí State. Moreover, these soils are young, with the soils from the Piauí Formation being more evolved. However, the sandstones from the Canindé Group apparently are providing lithological secondary minerals for the soil.

RESUMO Racional: A sepse é importante problema de saúde pública, sendo relacionada com altos custos de tratamento e elevadas taxas de mortalidade. A suplementação de glutamina tem provado ser benéfica às funções do sistema imune, atuando em estados catabólicos graves. Objetivo: Avaliar o efeito da suplementação de glutamina via intraperitoneal em ratos induzidos à sepse. Método: Foram utilizados ratos Wistar submetidos à sepse por ligadura e punção do ceco, separados em grupo controle C (n=6) e glutamina G (n=11), aos quais foram administrados dipeptiven a 20% com dose de 2 ml/kg/dia (equivalente a 0,4 g N(2)-L-alanil-L-glutamina/kg), via intraperitoneal, 48 h antes da indução da sepse. Após 48 h todos os animais foram submetidos à eutanásia e intestino, fígado, pulmão e rim foram retirados para análise histológica. Resultados: No intestino a descamação epitelial do grupo controle foi mais intensa em comparação ao da glutamina (p=0,008). Nos rins, houve menor degeneração do epitélio tubular nos animais que receberam glutamina (p=0,029). No fígado, o grupo glutamina apresentou índices menores de tumefação celular do que o grupo controle (p=0,034). No pulmão não houve resultados com significância estatística. Conclusão: A suplementação prévia de animais experimentais com glutamina via intraperitoneal é capaz de reduzir os danos causados à mucosa intestinal, histoarquitetura dos rins e do fígado.

ABSTRACT Background: Sepsis is an important public health issue and is associated with high treatment costs and high mortality rates. Glutamine supplementation has proven to be beneficial to the functions of the immune system, acting beneficially in the evolution of patients in severe catabolic states. Aim: To evaluate the effect of glutamine supplementation via intraperitoneal in rats, induced sepsis, considering the following organs: intestines, liver, kidneys and lungs. Methods: Male Wistar rats subjected to sepsis by ligature and cecal puncture were divided into two groups: control C (n=6) and glutamine G (n=11), in which were administered dipeptiven 20% at a dose of 2 ml/kg/day (equivalent to 0.4g N(2)-L-alanyl-L-glutamine/kg) intraperitoneally 48 h prior to sepsis induction. After 48 h they were euthanized and intestine, liver, lung and kidney were removed for histological analysis. Results: Intestinal epithelial desquamation of the control group was more intense compared to the glutamine group (p=0.008). In the kidneys, degenerative tubular epithelial changes were less severe in the animals that received glutamine (p=0.029). Regarding to the liver, glutamine group showed lower levels of cell swelling than the control group (p=0.034). In the lung there were no results with statistical significance. Conclusion: Prior intraperitoneal supplementation with glutamine in experimental animals is able to reduce the damage to the intestinal mucosa, to the kidneys and liver’s histoarchitecture.

RESUMO O presente artigo objetiva trazer uma reflexão sobre o aprender e a relação com o mestre em salas de aulas em que alunos surdos aprendem por processos de interpretação, ou seja, com a presença de intérpretes educacionais. O artigo se desenvolve a partir de aportes teóricos da filosofia francesa alinhados a questões postas sobre o campo da educação, mais especificamente na educação de surdos em espaços inclusivos. As cenas escolares serão trazidas como componentes articuladores da teoria, dessa forma, as análises foram desenvolvidas ao longo de toda a produção textual. Duas obras literárias, O mestre ignorante de Jacques Rancière e O mestre inventor de Walter Kohan, foram apresentadas como forma de ilustrar figuras de mestres que alçam produzir encontros criativos com seus alunos, nos quais aprendem, ensinam, criam e constroem-se. Esses dois experimentos de mestrias anunciados, alinhados ao lugar híbrido que o intérprete educacional ocupa na escola, foram usados como espaço de diálogo para repensar o processo educacional, e o aprender como sendo da ordem da singularidade.

ABSTRACT This article aims to draw a reflection on learning and on the relationship with the schoolmaster in classrooms in which deaf students learn through interpretation processes, i.e., with the presence of educational interpreters. The article develops from theoretical contributions of French philosophy aligned with issues posed in the field of education, more specifically on the deaf education within inclusive spaces. School scenes will be drawn as articulating components of the theory; hence, analyses were developed throughout the entire textual production. Two literary works, The ignorant schoolmaster by Jacques Rancière and The inventive schoolmaster by Walter Kohan, were presented to illustrate figures of teachers who beget creative encounters with their students, in which they learn, teach, create, and build themselves. These two mastership experiments announced, aligned with the hybrid position the educational interpreter occupies in the school, were used as space for dialogue to rethink the educational process and the learning as being part of the singularity.

Abstract The Brazilian Provisional Act No. 579/2012 established a significant change in the rules applied to the electric energy sector, in particular in relation to the renewal of concessions of power generation, transmission and distribution of power from those who have contract termination between 2013 and 2017. Besides this measure, the electric energy distributors are going through the third Cycle of Periodic Tariff Review, a fact that also foresees the reduction of charges imposed on the electricity, thereby requiring a greater efficiency of its management. Thus, this research analyses the technical efficiency on the electric energy distribution companies. This is a study with a quantitative approach, based on data from 2012. With the application of Data Envelopment Analysis, we determined the relative technical efficiency of 18 companies of the population. The relative technical efficiency reached a score of 100% in seven of the 18 companies analyzed. Efficient firms are spread across Brazil, with a greater concentration in the South-east. The Municipal Human Development Index, the size of the concession area and the extent of distribution network, as well as the population density are not explanatory to the attainment of efficiency factors.

Resumen La Ley Provisional No. 579/2012 estableció un cambio significativo en las reglas aplicadas al sector de la energía eléctrica, en particular en relación con la renovación de concesiones de generación, transmisión y distribución de energía de las cuales tienen un tempo limitado. Además de esta medida, los distribuidores de energía eléctrica están pasando por el tercer Ciclo de Revisión Tarifaria Periódica, hecho que también prevee la reducción de los cargos impuestos a la electricidad, requiriendo así una mayor eficiencia de su gestión. Así, está investigación analiza la eficiencia técnica de las empresas distribuidoras de energía eléctrica. Se trata de un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, basado en datos de 2012. Con el Análisis de Envoltura de Datos, se determinó la eficiencia técnica relativa de 18 empresas de la población. La relativa eficiencia técnica alcanzó una puntuación del 100% en siete de las 18 empresas analizadas. Las empresas eficientes están repartidas por todo Brasil, con una mayor concentración en el Sudeste. El Índice Municipal de Desarrollo Humano, el tamaño del área de concesión y el alcance de la red de distrbución, así como la densidad de población no explican el logro de factores de eficiencia.

RESUMO: Os produtos lácteos fazem parte da alimentação humana e o teor de umidade é uma informação importante da composição de alimentos e está entre os parâmetros da qualidade dos produtos, pois apresenta influência direta no armazenamento dos mesmos. Foram realizadas análises de umidade pela metodologia de secagem em estufa, infravermelho e micro-ondas em três produtos diferentes, sendo estes a mussarela, o queijo cremoso e a bebida láctea, com a utilização de três marcas distintas para cada produto, todas adquiridas no comércio local da cidade de Goiatuba, Goiás. Os diferentes métodos de determinação de extrato seco utilizados não diferiram significativamente entre si a um nível de significância de 5% pelo teste de Tukey, para a maioria das marcas comerciais analisadas. Houve diferença significativa, entre as metodologias utilizadas apenas para uma marca, para cada produto analisado. A metodologia de secagem em micro-ondas é um método seguro e confiável em análises de extrato seco em derivados lácteos, com resultados precisos garantindo a qualidade nos processos analíticos, como também a redução do tempo de análise garantindo a otimização desse processo nas análises de rotina em laboratórios de controle de qualidade das indústrias alimentícias.

ABSTRACT: Dairy products are a common staple in the human diet. Moisture content is an important factor in the composition of foods, and it is a parameter used to measure product quality due to its direct influence on food storage. In this study, the moisture contents of three different products (mozzarella cheese, a creamy cheese spread, and yogurt drinks) were measured using oven drying, infrared drying, and microwave drying in order to compare the results of these three methods. Three brands of each product were used, all of which were purchased at the local supermarket in the city of Goiatuba, Goiás, Brazil. The different methods used to measure the dry extract of most of the brands analyzed did not differ significantly between each other based on a significance level of 5% on Tukey’s test. There was a significant difference between the methodologies used in the case of only one brand of each analyzed product. Microwave drying method wasreported to be a safe and reliable technique for analyzing dry extract from dairy products; it produces precise results, thus guaranteeing the quality of the analysis, and it reduces procedure time, thus optimizing the routine analytical processes performed in quality control laboratories within food processing plants.

Abstract This randomized clinical trial aimed to assess the efficacy of sealing occlusal carious lesions in permanent teeth. The sample consisted of 54 occlusal carious lesions in permanent molars and premolars of 49 patients aged 8–43 years (median: 19 years). The inclusion criteria comprised the presence of a cavity with no access allowing biofilm control. The maximum depth of the lesion was the middle third of the dentin thickness, as assessed by bitewing radiography. The teeth were randomly assigned to sealant treatment (n = 28) or restorative treatment (n = 26). Clinical and radiographic examinations were performed after 1 year and after 3–4 years. The outcomes depended on the clinical performance of the sealant/restoration and the control of caries progression observed radiographically. Survival analysis was performed to assess success rates. Over the 3-4 years of monitoring, 2 sealants were totally lost, 1 needed repair, and 1 showed caries progression, totaling 4 failures in the sealant group. In the restoration group, 1 failure was observed (in need of repair). The success rates were 76% and 94% in the sealant and the restoration groups, respectively (p > 0.05). The sealing of occlusal carious lesions in permanent teeth succeeded in controlling caries over a 3–4-year period. However, sealed carious lesions require patient compliance in attending regular follow-ups to control the occurrence of clinical failures of the sealants.

ABSTRACT Management of pharmacotherapy in elderly with metabolic diseases is challenging and potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) are risk factors for drug interactions and adverse events. The exposure to PIMs in elderly outpatients with metabolic diseases and its relationship with polypharmacy and other variables was investigated. PIMs prescribed to 207 elderly patients (aged 60 to 96 years) with metabolic diseases who attended a University Hospital of Sao Paulo city, Brazil, from April/2010 to January/2011, were evaluated. PIMs were detected using both 2003 Beers and 2008 STOPP criteria. The association between PIMs and age, gender and polypharmacy was also examined. 2008 STOPP criteria detected more PIMs (44.4 %) than 2003 Beers criteria (16.0%, p<0.001). Beers detected mainly PIMs antihypertensive (clonidine, 20.0%; doxazosin, 10.0%) and antidepressant (fluoxetine, 15.0%; amitriptyline, 10.0%) PIMs. Medicines used for cardiovascular (aspirin, 53.7%) and endocrine system (glibenclamide, 21.3%) were PIMs more frequently detected by 2008 STOPP. Unlike age and gender, polypharmacy increased the risk of PIMs by both 2003 Beers (OR: 4.0, CI95%: 1.2-13.8, p<0.031) and 2008 STOPP (OR: 6.8, CI95%: 3.0-15.3, p<0.001). Beers and STOPP criteria are important tools to evaluate the exposure to PIMs, which is strongly associated with polypharmacy in elderly outpatients with metabolic diseases.

Resumo: O presente trabalho objetiva travar um diálogo entre filosofia francesa e surdez, a partir dos constructos dos autores Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari e Michel Foucault, no que tange a ação conceitual e criativa da filosofia da diferença. Tal perspectiva se mostra propulsora de um pensamento militante e potente para compor novas práticas na educação de surdos. Problematiza-se a educação inclusiva e os discursos sobre a surdez pautados na lógica da mesmidade que apaga a diferença surda. Como alçar possibilidades de inscrição da surdez em outra lógica? Como sugestão, seria no incômodo de não se fazer igual, de não reparar seu corpo por meio de técnicas ortopédicas, mas de se recriar, reativando outros saberes, numa ética de se fazer singular. Nessa via, emerge a resistência surda, sendo efetivada por meio de formas outras de exercício e afirmação da vida. É pela enunciação da diferença linguística e pela visualidade conferida à experiência ímpar da não audição que tem se marcado a petição de uma educação bilíngue (no Brasil): língua brasileira de sinais (Libras) e língua portuguesa.

Abstract: This article aims to put in dialogue French philosophy and deafness, using the constructs of the authors Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari and Michel Foucault, regarding the conceptual and creative action of the philosophy of difference. Such a perspective is shown as being the driving force of a militant and powerful thinking to compose new practices in deaf education. Inclusive education and discourses on deafness guided by the sameness logic that erases the difference of being deaf are problematized. How to raise deafness registration possibilities in another logic? As a suggestion, it would be the inconvenience of not doing the same, of not noticing their bodies through orthopedic techniques but to recreate, reactivating other knowledges, as an ethic of being singular. Following this, deaf resistance emerges, made effective by other forms of exercises and life affirmation. It is by enunciating the linguistic difference and by the visual ability given to the singular experience of not hearing, which has marked the petition of a bilingual education (in Brazil): the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and the Portuguese language.
